Product Description

Mono® 555 is a high solids, one-part, solvent based acrylic sealant that offers excellent UV resistance and flexible workability.

Basic Uses

Mono 555 was developed for sealing construction joints such as window and door perimeters, control joints, bedding of mullions, frames, PVC, and aluminum siding. For glazing, Mono 555 can be used for cap beads between glass and exterior stop.

and has over 40 years of proven performance in cold weather climates. It has exceptional primerless adhesion to all of the common building components and comes in a wide variety of colors to match most any substrate.

Joint design

Mono 555 may be used in any vertical or non-traffic horizontal joint designed in accordance with accepted architectural/ engineering practices. Joint width should be 4 times anticipated movement, but not less than 1/4” (6.4mm).

Joint backing

Closed cell or reticulated polyethylene backer rod is recommended as joint backing to control sealant depth and
to ensure intimate contact of sealant with joint walls when tooling. Where depth of joint will prevent the use of backer rod, an adhesive backed polyethylene tape (bond breaker tape) should be used to prevent three-sided adhesion. All backing should be dry at time of sealant application.
