Our Team

In April 1987, Neil Pritchard started his own company to sell a superior glazing product to the window industry in BC and Alberta. He sold twice as much foam tape as he had budgeted for in that first year; CASCADE AQUA-TECH was on its way, and has grown steadily over the years to become the leading Canadian supplier of specialty products for the building envelope industry in BC and Alberta.

Raised in Vancouver, Neil majored in Science at SFU and studied Engineering at UBC, but his studies in Building Technology, at Red River Technical College in Winnipeg, formed the foundation of his career and led to the creation of Cascade.

From their home near Penticton, Neil and his wife, Ranada, maintain their integral relation with Cascade as guardians of the company values that will continue to drive Cascade forward. Neil has said, “Almost all of the principles I came to regard as my core values in business were learned in that first year.”

Dave Metzler came to Canada from Durban, South Africa, where he had practiced law, and joined Cascade Aqua-Tech in Sales in July of 1997, with the objective of building Cascade’s share of the restoration market. After ten busy years of growing with the company, Dave partnered with Neil and Ranada Pritchard in the ownership of Cascade, and was named Vice President of Sales in 2007.

Dave Metzler has been at the helm of Cascade as company president since 2012, successfully guiding the company through some challenging times, and overseeing Cascade’s expansion. When he is not in the offices of one of the Cascade branches, Dave spends his time biking or snowboarding with friends and family. His great aspiration is to ride all the stages of the Tour de France!

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Byron Preston earned a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA, developing a solid foundation in business before immigrating to Canada. Since joining Cascade in November 2010, Byron has excelled in sales and is currently the Regional Sales Manager, based in Burnaby. Byron is known to have a passion for rugby, and enjoyed playing for the Capilano Rugby Football Club. He is married, with two children.

Dave Hyldig grew up in the house that his dad, a contractor and developer, built in Victoria, so he gained an early familiarity with construction. Dave worked in specialty construction supply for more than 15 years, and joined Cascade in March 2002. He knows all about waterproofing and glazing, and is more than capable of providing whatever support his customers need. Whenever possible, Dave attends industry trade shows, including the Fenestration Association of BC (FEN-BC) meetings and Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) functions, to stay up to date on industry issues and local projects. Dave says, “I am proud of the team we have built in Victoria and we look forward to continuing to earn your business.”

Born and raised in Vancouver, Steve Dmytry joined Cascade in 1997. His expertise in building envelope systems, waterproofing membranes and sealants is priceless to his customers. He is continually updating his knowledge through his involvement in the Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA), the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and the Fenestration Association of BC. On the personal side, Steve says, “taking on home projects is fun.” He’s the ideal guy to count on for total support for your building envelope work.

Born in Toronto, Ben Servais settled in Calgary in the mid 80’s, and earned his BA at the University of Calgary. After finding his way into distribution sales, Ben earned his CSP designation through the Canadian Professional Sales Association, and further developed his knowledge through Dale Carnegie Sales Training, and the Canadian Management Association. With his expertise in building materials sales and management, Ben is a proud member of the Alberta Building Envelope Council, and also participates in the CSC (Construction Specifications Canada) to stay current with the products and methods in cutting-edge building technology. Ben will be happy to answer any questions you have about building envelope systems.
